Can't believe today is the last day of 2013 and that my baby boy will be 16 months in just a few short days. This year has flown by so fast that it brings tears to my eyes. Noah was only 4 months at the beginning of the year and we were just getting into the hang of things. Becoming a mom is a hard but rewarding life changing event that keeps on giving. There is nothing that compares.
Noah is a walking, running machine and he goes all day non stop except for his 1 nap in the afternoon. He is still sleeping in our bed which I'm sure a lot of parents frown upon but it works for us and Kris and I's relationship has not suffered from it. Noah goes up and down the stairs by himself for the most part. He can stack blocks and build puzzles. He helps me with dishes by cleaning out daddy's water bottles and coffee thermos. He just loves helping me around the house whether it's picking up toys, vacuuming, dishes, flushing the toilet and then of course we wash his hands. He says mama and dada, no no but other than that his vocabulary hasn't quite caught up to him yet. It did have me worried a few weeks back and I started researching and panicking that something was wrong. But through my research and talking with friends it normal for vocab to be behind when someone is so focused on motor skills like Noah. So I'm trying to stay calm right now and not worry. If by 2 he still isn't saying much then I'll start worrying again. Lol Anywho Noah loves to brush his teeth and has fallen in love with baths all over again because I started doing bubbles. He literally will bring me his bubble bath over to the tub for me to put it in the water. It's so cute! We have taught him some of his body parts like nose, ears, hair, chin, forehead, toes, etc. He is such a sponge and just soaks everything up. He is a great eater and loves to use a fork and spoon. He also just started wiping of the table to clean his mess up. So so funny! We have been cloth diapering since May and I'm so in love with it. It's actually quite addicting as I'm sure some of you know. Noah is still breastfeeding at almost 16 months. My goal right now is to make it to 18 months. It's only 2 months away, I think we can make it! And we will keep going till he doesn't need that comfort or source of nourishment any more. Waiting it out really is a great thing.
Basically Noah and Kris are my everything. They make me so happy and I'm just so blessed to spend everyday with them. 2013 has brought on some challenges but overall it was a great year. I'm excited to see what 2014 has in store for the Kensinger family.
Love, Sara
